ABOUT MUSIC LOVER MUGS
I grew up around music. My dad played guitar and mandolin, and I learned my first chords from him. Over the years I’ve drifted toward Americana, bluegrass, and folk — the kind of music you hear at festivals and late-night jam circles.
I’m not a rock star, just a guy who loves to play. I’ve done my share of open mics, campfire jams, and round-robins, and what I love most is the community—that unspoken connection between people who make music together.
Music Lover Mugs came out of that same spirit. What sort of gift would you get for a musician friend? Musicians tend to be particular about their gear. A mug is a utilitarian object that can be used for a number of things, like pens and pencils, stationary, and coins. Maybe fill it with candy so everyone stops by your desk for a treat and maybe comes to your gigs. Be creative, and be proud of your musical skills. Who knows? Maybe you will inspire others to learn the joys of actually playing music. I wanted to make something real for the people who live and breathe music — gifts that felt personal, not like the same old “World’s Greatest Guitar Player” mug you see everywhere.
Each design starts as a phrase that makes me smile or reminds me of someone I’ve played with. They’re simple, colorful, and a little tongue-in-cheek—the kind of thing you’d actually want to give (or get) along with a card, a set of strings, or a new pack of picks. You know the ones they use.
Because for me, music has always been about connection—and the friends and the memories and the good times.
